Press release Philippine PEN holds 2013 Conference on December 3-4 The Philippine Center of International PEN (Poets, Playwrights, Essayists, Novelists), on the occasion of its 56th year, will hold its annual literature conference on 3-4 December 2013 (Tuesday-Wednesday) at the Multi-purpose Room 4th Floor Henry Sy Sr. Hall, De La Salle University, 2401 Taft Avenue, Manila. The theme of this two-day conference is “Literature of Concord and Solidarity: The Writer as Peacemaker.” The panel sessions will cover topics and issues such as war and the imagination, gender wars and conflicts, conflict and creativity, and the quest for peace. National Artist F. Sionil José will give the Message from the Founder. PEN Chairman and National Artist Bienvenido Lumbera will deliver the Andres Bonifacio Lecture on December 3, lunchtime. Delacruzes donate books to San Juan City library

San Juan City -- Surviving children of the late couple Prof.   Leopoldo A. Delacruz, Sr., and Elisa Me ñ ez Mijares donated yesterday more or less fifty books to San Juan City Library, which is   housed in the newly-completed municipal building, along Pinaglabanan Street, some few hundred meters from Pinaglabanan Shrine.   Dr. Leopoldo M. Delacruz, Jr., author of Leben Antrieb (1988) , and of Paradise in Wrath (2007), a play in English, representing the Delacruz-Mijares clan, through the help of Barangay Batis tanod Mr. Francis Yadao, delivered some reference reading materials to the City Library of the Municipality of San Juan City. Administrative aides Ms. Elenita Eulloran and Mrs.   Veronica E. Eupena-Mallari received the said donations. City library officer-in-charge   Mr. Carlito Q.
