Some of my short poems have been accepted at The Golden Lantern - poetry through the essence of Buddhism and Taoism. On the other hand, I've revised two of my essays written in Pangasinan language, updated the Vox Pangasinense section and I've also corrected some minor errors in the manuscript of the Pinabli tan arum ni'ran Balikas . Poetry Is Dead. Does Anybody Really Care? "It is difficult to imagine a world without movies, plays, novels and music, but a world without poems doesn’t have to be imagined. I find it disturbing that no one I know has cracked open a book of poetry in decades and that I, who once spent countless hours reading contemporary poets like Lowell and Berryman, can no longer even name a living poet." -- Bruce Wexler

I've met with Mr. Repalda & Dir. Jaime P. Lucas (DTI-Pangasinan) last Sunday (Apr. 20) to discuss the would-be literary group in Pangasinan. We've already listed the names of potential members. Dir. Lucas asked me to initiate the organization of the said group and I gladly accepted. And as for my book Pinabli , publication is currently on hold. I'm still looking for generous sponsors who would finance the printing cost. Finally, my www.eac.edu.ph/dalityapi subdomain is back online! Filipinos use poetry to observe Lent One way Filipino Christians commemorate Lent is holding the Pabasa ng Pasiong Mahal. In the vernacular language, Tagalog, pabasa means to let prose or poetry be read. Pasiong Mahal means sacred passion referring to the passion of Christ.

Pangasinan writers lacked the invigorating environment of a literary movement and cut off from all creative support from the “literary ambient” of the so-called mainstream literati. Thus, here some of my thought on creating the Urduja Creative Writers Association (U.C.W.A.) yet another literary association / organization in Pangasinan. The U.C.W.A. is created and/or organized with a purpose of putting the association to be at par with the leading literary circles in the country. - promote New Sensibilities in Pangasinan literature - publish works in local, national and international publications - translate works written in Pangasinan, Iluko and Bolinao into Filipino & English and vice versa - represent Pangasinan in literary and cultural organizations Potential Programs of U.C.W.A. - workshops - conferences - publications - awards And yes, we should have a poetry month and perhaps a poet laureate :)
