The Ubbog Cordillera Young Writers, Inc. will launch its first Ubbog Journal on February 19, Saturday, at 6 p.m. at Mt. Cloud Bookshop in Casa Vallejo, Baguio City. Ubbog Journal is a collection of a short story and poems in Kankanaey, Ibaloi, Ilocano, Ifugao, Filipino and English, by twenty authors from Ubbog. Dubbed by members of the group as an anthology that springs from moments of deluge and drought, the book is hand-made in traditional book-binding and with a cloth cover. Ubbog was founded in April 2007 by the fellows in the 2007 Cordillera Creative Writing Workshop (joint-project of the University of the Philippines Baguio and the National Commission for Culture and the Arts). The book launch is part of the activities of the Axis Art Project to celebrate the Philippine Arts Fest in Baguio.

Sonnet to a Pilgrim Soul :

Translated by Gennady Novoselcev, Russia
