I finally met the poet Dr. Cirilo F. Bautista in person at the launching of Tomas 6 in the University of Santo Tomas yesterday afternoon. We had a brief chat about regional and on-line poetry, and about the Nobel. Yeah, thanks to my friend Jose Jason Chancoco for dragging be along UST. It was indeed a poetic experience for my part.



And prior to this event, I submitted my poetry entry for the NCCA's Ubod. The results will be released in January 2003. Wishing my self some luck!

Santiago Villafania is a bilingual Filipino poet who writes in English and in his native language of Pangasinan. Born in Tuliao, Sta. Barbara, Pangasinan on 31 January 1971, Villafania graduated with a degree of Bachelor of Arts in English from the University of Pangasinan in 1991. Villafania advocates for the resurgence of Pangasinan as a literary language.
