1st Pangasinan Poetry Workshop (Awiran na Anlong a Pangasinan)

The Ulupan na Pansiansia’y Salitan Pangasinan and the University of Pangasinan are accepting applications from writers to the 1st Pangasinan Poetry Workshop (Awiran na Anlong a Pangasinan) to be held on March 1-2, 2004 in the University of Pangasinan, Dagupan City.

Fifteen (15) to twenty (20) fellowships will be awarded. Interested parties may send two (2) poems (anlong) for consideration, along with a letter of application and resume with one (1) 2x2 picture. Works must be in Pangasinan language. Applicants may hand-carry their entries and requirements.

Applications must be postmarked on or before February 20, 2004.

Applicants are also advised to keep copies of their manuscripts since these will not be returned.

2nd Poetry Reading in Dagupan City, Pangasinan
Leading Poets in Pangasinan Celebrate World Poetry Day in Dagupan City, Pangasinan.

In support of the 2004 Dialogue Through Poetry Week, World Poetry Day and Pablo Neruda Centenary, oral and aural presentation of contemporary poetry of Pangasinan through a reading / performance of Neruda’s poetry and original literary pieces in four languages: Pangasinan, Iluko, Filipino and English on March 2, 2004 starting at 4:00 P.M. in the University of Pangasinan, Arellano St., Dagupan City.

The event is free and open to the public.

Some of the featured Pangasinan poets include Jaime P. Lucas, Dr. Linda R. Andaya (LIRA), Sergio Bumadilla, Leonarda Carrera (Amor Cico), Santiago B. Villafania & the Fellows of the 1st Pangasinan Poetry Workshop (Awiran na Anlong a Pangasinan).
