Stairways of Pay-yo

Pinmasyar ak ed Pay-yo kalabian dia'd panamegley na maatap kon ilalam. Say kuanda 'ra'y totoon daan, aya so pasen ya ayaman da'ra'y anito tan dinidyus. Diman imbalikas ko'y liknaan ed sinoniton anlong.

i climbed the hills and mountains of scaled earth
the emerald stairways of Pay-yo where
the ancient ones tamed the storms and thunders
with words
        with songs
               with dances and rituals
and communed with the unknown and the dead
with the guardians and spirits of the place

O my ancestors! you all lied to me
where is the woodhenge that crowned solitude?

here i can feel the warm fingers of dawn
and the cold embrace of westering sun
but where are the anitos and the gods
who dwell on this terrestrial land or lair?

where is the stargate of Apolaki
where you can bend time and change hi(s)tory?
