For Love of the Word: Workshops on Teaching Philippine Literature in High School and College

The fifth of the series, a lecture-workshop on teaching Bicol literature and Philippine fiction, will be conducted by Jaime An Lim (Metrobank Outstanding Teacher) and Paz Verdades Santos (2011 Gawad Paz Marquez Benitez for Outstanding Educator from UMPIL).

Meet the PEN Authors and Bicol Writers

1:00-3:00 p.m.
Raul S. Roco Library (Naga City Public Library), Naga City Hall

This event features National Artist for Literature Bienvenido Lumbera, Carlos Arejola, Kristian Sendon Cordero, Frank Peñones and Jose Barrameda. The writers will read from their work and talk about their craft.

Also featured is the performance of the Naga College Foundation Center for Arts, Culture, and Bicol Studies. The group will perform Arejola’s short story for children, “Si Miriam asin an Saiyang Samhod, Bunot, Pantrapo, asin Panhaklot nin Ati.”

“Sagurong: 100 na Kontemporanyong Rawitdawit sa Manlain-lain na Tataramon Bikol” (Vibal Publishing for De La Salle University 2011), edited by Paz Verdades Santos and Kristian Sendon Cordero, will be re-launched at the forum.

PEN Rizal Forum in Legazpi

This forum features Ambeth Ocampo and Jun Cruz Reyes. This event is in cooperation with the Divinian Association of Language Enthusiasts (DALE) and the English and Social Science Department of Divine Word College of Legazpi.
