The following poem was written for me by Laura Josselyn way back in 1998. Might as well visit her sites: Unveilings Of Thought -- Art Gallery, Poetry, Thoughts, Spoken Word Gallery and My Broken Skyline -- NYC / WTC Post traumatic art and poetry from a NYC native's perspective.
THE BLUE ROSE
(an extended haiku)
Gentle the blue rose
soft petals reflect his soul
delicate his words
Tender his heart lies
thorns do not harm those who see
his radiant light
Words are like petals
each surrounding the true heart
in soft ornament
Offering solace
from harsh winds and tournament
strength within beauty
(for Sonny)
