i too went to the woods
to discover the moment
perhaps a little something
of my youth
loft in the realities of life
i came back
but a part of me stayed behind
throwing verses in the wind
still searching
what is to be found

William Blake's lines could not have been more appropriate than when mountaineer Neil McCarthy read them earlier this year atop the highest mountain in Antarctica as part of the international Poetry on the Peaks project.
