Yesterday, I submitted some of my poems for Kota Press Journal and two of my Tagalog poetry for the Kabayan. And today, I sent another batch of my poems for the weekend issue of the Manila Times. Crossing my fingers again.
the prodigal son
i came one day
in your Grace House
like a lost sheep
from an unknown flock
you took my hands
and thanked the Lord
for giving you another son
you taught me things
i knew not by heart
you fed me words
too profound for me
to understand
i left
without a word
broken-hearted
you've not really seen
my true colour
just my bare skin
painted brown
the prodigal son
i came one day
in your Grace House
like a lost sheep
from an unknown flock
you took my hands
and thanked the Lord
for giving you another son
you taught me things
i knew not by heart
you fed me words
too profound for me
to understand
i left
without a word
broken-hearted
you've not really seen
my true colour
just my bare skin
painted brown
