In the News: Singer, Poet Rod Mckuen Ends Exile, Gains New Purpose

It would be all too easy to dismiss Rod McKuen as a has-been and an old fogy. After all, the poet, composer and singer just turned 70 at a time when young rappers and nubile singer-songwriters rule the roost in what passes today for performance poetry. For good measure, McKuen, who is emerging from nearly a decade of self-imposed isolation due to depression, thinks rap is "crap" and young people today don't have the work ethics of their elders.

I am reposting this poem wherein I mentioned about reading the works of Rod McKuen.
