John Paul II Writing a Book on His Episcopal Experience
VATICAN CITY, (Zenit.org).- John Paul II is determined to finish writing a book on his pastoral and human experience as a bishop. Vatican spokesman Joaquín Navarro-Valls confirmed the news in a statement Wednesday. The Pope will go to his summer residence at Castel Gandolfo, south of Rome, on July 10, and continue his activities, including the completion of the book.
It was at Castel Gandolfo that John Paul II also wrote his book of poetry entitled "Roman Triptych," published last March. The Holy Father's last autobiographical book, "Gift and Mystery" (1996), was written on the occasion of the golden anniversary of his ordination to the priesthood.
