In the News: Local attends SE Asia poetry recital

Thailand recently grouped together poets from Southeast Asia in a literature event dedicated to poems composed in the region.

Organised by the Chumbhot-Pantip Association and The Oriental Bangkok, the event took place at the Suan Pakkad Palace, Sri Ayuthaya Road, Bangkok.

The poetry recital was entitled "The Multi Facets of Love in SEAWrite Poetry". Brunei Darussalam was represented by a local poet, Hj Sawal Rajab, a Language Officer at the Language and Literature Bureau, Berakas.

The event commenced with a welcoming address by the SEAWrite Award Chairman Mr Sukhumband Paribatra.

The poems were narrated in the languages they were composed as well as their English translations.

Hj Sawal recited his poem entitled "Perseverance Through the Ages" at the event. (via BruneiDirect.Com)
