The first Cybermeeting to unite Pangasinan in Cyberspace was held on Saturday, 7:00AM (PST), June 26, 2004. Buoyed by the idea of Mr. Florentino Acosta of San Nicolas / Juneau, Alaska and realizing the need to unite all Pangasinenses living abroad, Mr. Fernand Marinas, the WebMaster of Pangasinan Online created a page dedicated for the purpose. With ten members joining the ChatRoom and chaired by Mr. Ed Benito of Tayug / San Diego, the group agreed to name the association tentatively as United International Federation of Pangasinan. Membership is open to all individuals of Pangasinan roots or origin. Pangasinan and/or town organizations may also join this newly formed group. Mission statement, projects and objectives will be discussed in future meetings. Elected interim officials are as follows:

Vice-President - Ms. Deedee Connors
Secretary - Mr. Fernando “DahMan” Marinas
Asst. Secretary - Mr. Verlito Suitos
Treasurer - Mr. Ed Benito

PRO - Mr Narlo T. Serquina

Positions will be created to include representatives of each town of Pangasinan, advisers, etc. pending the creation of Constitution and By-laws. Anyone interested to join, please sign-up as members. As we are just in the initial stage, your participation and support is much needed.

Santiago Villafania is a bilingual Filipino poet who writes in English and in his native language of Pangasinan. Born in Tuliao, Sta. Barbara, Pangasinan on 31 January 1971, Villafania graduated with a degree of Bachelor of Arts in English from the University of Pangasinan in 1991. Villafania advocates for the resurgence of Pangasinan as a literary language. His works in the vernacular are some of the most representative, if not among the few that comprise that Pangasinan contemporary literary body. In his first book Balikas na Caboloan (Verses from Caboloan), the Pangasinan anlong resurfaces asserting its tradition amidst intersecting and pollinating genres and literary influences.
