when seasons

when seasons are a-changing
summer's back into its fold
there will i be awaiting
on the verdant green & gold

on yellow rolling hillocks
where i will be the soft breeze
the zephyr wind on your locks
or the drowsy tenderness

that will unpoem the scarlet
tune of the lavender spring
o sing with me then & let
us be one heartbeat throbbing

till the showers of autumn
fall like the vermillion rain
on a tangerine blossom
whose name is a sweet refrain

& i will be there with you
till the blue wings of winter
takes its flight & bids adieu
to our rhymed days of thunder
