I've been searching for poems written in Pangasinan language but to no avail. I too am a Pangasinense but I've not written a poem in my native tongue before. I guess it's not too late to start. I hope to come out with an ambitious project -- perhaps a collection of Pangasinan poetry :-) Those who doesn't know or understand the vernacular may be perplexed with the following poem. I am posting it here for the sons and daughters of Pangasinan to come out with contemporary Pangasinense writings. duga pa latan bai natetelek ak lan mandedengel ed sata'y ag napultot yon Ama Mi tan Ave Maria akatangay kayo la ed altar no onsabi la'y ala sais awit yo la ta'y rosarion masile-sileng tan pimmuti la ed kae-emben yo nima'y niluto yo balet inmangob tan atektek la nima'y sira ed palanggana agto ni naurasan nen atsi mikokotoan diman ed biek ya abung nima'y impesak anggapo ni'y angisirom duga pa latan bai, duga la naksel la so kamarerwa yo ed dasal niya ka...

New splash page uploaded and a preview of the next layout of my site. The splash image is originally a background for my poem entitled Erolalia and intended as a desktop wallpaper. It looks good on a page so I created an interface out of it. And as for the strange writings on the top of the image, that's Alibata or Baybayin (Tagalog script) - an ancient Filipino alphabet. You'll see a lot those on my pages soon. NCCA WRITERS’ PRIZE 2001 The NCCA Writers’ Prize is a grant awarded to five (5) writers, one for each of the following writing genres: novel, essay, short story (including children’s stories), poetry, and translation.

Currently in the news: Billy Collins was named as the 11th U.S. poet laureate succeeding Stanley Kunitz and Robert Pinsky. And if we have a poet laureate here in the Philippines, it would be Cirilo F. Bautista. I am cracking my nutshell over his book entitled " The Trilogy of Saint Lazarus ". His poetry veered away from the lyricism of Jose Garcia Villa. Bautista's work "Sunlight on Broken Stones: The Last in the Trilogy of Saint Lazarus" won the Centennial Literary Contest for Epic Poetry in English .

Just voted for Blogger in the Webby People's Voice award (Personal Site category) first thing today not only to show my appreciation but giving something in return for the excellent, useful free service. So if you're a Blogger user, two minutes would not take that long. Go Vote NOW! As for my suggestion(s) to the Philweavers, looks like it won't materialize but the good news is . . . they're doing the web site already and that's something to wait for . Just updated my listing at www.findpoetry.com. Some search engines and directories indexed my dalityapi.com URL. Well, it was a big mistake on my part when I signed up for that free dotcom domain from NameZero. Yeah, I know I still am a squatter in Yahoo! Geocities -- perhaps until I'm ready to move out. Such a love affair, huh?

The Literary Calendar had a major change in the format and layout. Users and visitors have now the option to register for a free account in order to submit related reviews, news, articles and stories; and/or give comments and participate in the on-going discussions. Dalityapi Unpoemed is the first site to be listed in the Literary Calendar's personal poetry category. And YES! this site too supports the coolstop openNetwork and aortal - the anti-portal. I hope the Philweavers will have something like these independent web resources. I already sent my suggestion(s) to the group's mailing list . . . just waiting for their response .

Last night I heard the voice of my Muse again :-) i sometimes am mute like a broken flute or a mere cacophony of rhythms amaranthine lyrics a poet's sweet or sad a music i am the song of existence ancient as the inaudible sounds of the harmonious spheres incarnated into the inmost self of man when the man returns into the embraces of the earth i shall find a way for my continuity into the wraith of those who have gone away into the unknown spheres of death into the windless realms of the ocean sea

amaranthine lyrics
a poet's sweet or sad a music
i am the song of existence
ancient as the inaudible sounds
of the harmonious spheres
incarnated into the inmost self of man
when the man returns
into the embraces of the earth

into the unknown spheres of death
