I started re-designing the website of Emilio Aguinaldo College, the company where I work. Hopefully, I will launch the new site early this June 2004. I might also use the same layout for Dalityapi. On the poetry reading that I am organizing here at EAC, it seems that I am not going to get any support from my bard-brothers. But it's Ok, I am sure they have other priorities this coming month of May. I'll proceed with the project. Details will be posted soon. I visited Solidaridad Publishing House yesterday hoping to see Sionil F. Jose in person. I am supposed to give him my book proposal but he was not around when I came. I left the poposal for my books, The Serpent Tongue and Malagilion despite the fact that the person in-charge of the bookshop told me that they're no longer into publishing. Anyway, will try to follow it up next week to find out if Sionil Jose has an inkling of interest to my proposal. Also submitted some pages to Dr. R. David Zorc about Pangasinan conjunctions and affixes for the book I am writing & collaborating with a fellow Pangasinense for the McNeil Technologies. I hope to come out with something substantial in a couple of months or so. And here is a sonnet for the Pangasinenses who believe that our literature is going nowhere. Perhaps they were right, but then the grammaton cleric of Pangasinan is not giving up. sonito 128 “poetry has no dominating place in the mind of Pangasinan” anggapo’y kaoalaan o lug...

I need to get out of the daily routine of my job to have a life. Yeah, right, A LIFE! I'm fucking tired of having a love affair with my office computer. I'm thinking of going back to school to pursue Graduate Studies. A friend and a professor from UP suggested that I should take Philippine Studies either in the field of creative writing or history. On the other hand, I still am not sure whether they'd allow me to teach web design in the College of CompSci or literature subjects in the College of Arts of Emilio Aguinaldo College. I prefer to teach in the College of Arts though. But between experience and diploma, some morons think diploma is better as if theory is knowledge truer than hands-on experience. Oh me! this is my so-called life here at EAC. While I love to teach, teaching is far too alien to love me in return. Anyway, teaching is just a mere act of giving away the envelop. I have the letter :) 127th sonnet (written last April 10 in Lingayen, Pangasinan) added to M...

I am currently reverting to my old site layout and design borrowed from glish.com 's blogger template. So far, it looks good on 800x600 resolution. Other pages will be updated soonest.

Three of my poems appeared in the first edition of Ardent! And here is my latest standard bio: Santiago (Sonny) B. Villafania is a Pangasinan poet and Web designer based in Manila, PH. He writes in Pangasinan, Tagalog (Filipino) and English. Some of his poems have appeared in local and international print publications. An advocate of the preservation and the revival of Pangasinan (one of the eight major languages of the Philippines) as a literary language. His first book of Pangasinan poetry entitled Pinabli tan arum ni'ran Anlong (Beloved and other Poems) won him the Writer of the Year Award in his province. He is coming out with his second book of Pangasinan poetry, Malagilion: Soniton Pangasinan (a collection of experimental Pangasinan sonnets). Sonny also edits the Makata (Poet), a succinct international poetry on-line magazine. Ummmm... notice the lack of literary workshops? I didn't make it to the 11th Iligan National Writers Workshop this year. Too elusive! duh!
